Once upon a time, there lived a girl and a boy,
The boy loved her, but was too shy.
He only watched her from afar,
And was present in her life, from far away like a star.
She was the prettiest one, the most lovable,
But unfortunately for her, she was a bit unstable.
The boy still loved her even when he knew he had no chance,
And whenever she smiled, his heart danced.
They both were good friends who could never be apart,
The girl had good looks, while the boy was smart.
In his mind, they were both perfect for each other,
But for his dedication and love, he was meant to suffer.
One day, there came a guy in the picture,
The one due to which, the first one got blurred.
He couldn't do anything but stay,
As the second one took her away.
He had expected that she would say no,
But what was in her mind, he had no clue.
She shocked him to the core by her plans,
And had put him in some kind of a trance.
It was heartbreaking for the first boy to see that,
To see the love of his life getting snatched away like that.
So he decided he would ask her out once and for all,
And he would find out if his love and friendship could make her fall.
What he didn't expect was to see the girl so alike
But so changed that she only wanted to strike.
She broke his trust and love,
And everyone mocked him from the pedestal above.
She denied that they were ever close friends,
'Cuz she was blinded by her jewelry and latest trends.
He became the laughing stock of the whole batch
While everything he believed in, was snatched.
This was not the end, for he still loved her,
But for his pain and scars, there was no cure.
He couldn't stop his tears as he watched them go,
And even at that time, he didn't want revenge, no show.
His heart still yearned for her 'cuz he loved her,
But she turned out to be evil instead of pure.
She ruined him and his world got torn apart
But towards the path of greatness, it was his start.
When the reality of what happened sunk in,
A desire ignited in his heart, a desire to win.
The loneliness and betrayal from the world shaped his mind,
And to the goodness in this world, he became blind.
He became someone he never wanted to be,
But he felt as though now people could see.
He took everyone as his enemy and none friend,
For the first time in his life, he didn't want to blend.
Even after years he is still not healed,
Simply because he thought the child within him was killed.
But what he didn't realize was that he would love again,
Probably not like before, not exactly the same.
The small child is still alive within him,
Lost within the desire to look proper and prim.
That child needs to be let free from those chains,
Not to win anything, not to play any games.
But at last, at the end of the day,
He knows that he isn't supposed to slay.
He still cries for that love he could never win,
Just because he didn't look good, or was not slim.
But now even when he has everything that he wanted,
He wants more, a seed of thought in his mind is planted.
That one experience has scarred him for ever,
But what he doesn't realize, is that this part of him
Makes the sweet innocent boy shiver.
