Mental Peace

It's tremendously easy to just get caught up with everything that's happening in a one's life. It's so easy to lose track of days of everything and just start overworking and drowning yourself into things that don't really make you happy but things that you do to just feel a little more productive. It's easy to fall back in a pattern of comparing yourself with other people all the time. Everybody knows its not good for them. It's a basic concept that we all know about but most of us don't even notice the signs of falling into this pattern until its too late.


While watching Jaiden Animation's video, I realized that almost everybody goes through the same thing many times in their life. Everyone at least once feel the need to prove themselves to the world. They see everyone else succeeding and start feeling left out. For some people this feeling is extremely intense while for others it isn't. When we look at others succeeding and working harder than us, we feel the need to prove ourselves because somewhere in our minds, we are looking for validation. What if we are not good enough to achieve something? To achieve our dreams? What if we don't deserve it? So, to overcome that insecurity, we try to work harder and we let our work consume us whole. It makes us forget that life is not just about working. It's about a lot of things.


Some people think that being productive is the ultimate motive of our life and its something that defines who we are. And yes they are right. Everybody needs to work in order to lead a good life. But one shouldn't harm themselves or the people around them during the process. Someone's identity is not based on how productive that person is but rather on their personality. One shouldn't be too hard on themselves till the point that they become toxic to their own self. Its good to work hard and have strong will power but there's a very fine line between being hard on yourself and being toxic to yourself. Many people start getting toxic to themselves with their unrealistically high expectations and they just get burned out over a period of time because of this.


There will come a point where they will be just DONE with everything. Our brain needs something creative from time to time. It needs to relax and do something out of ordinary. It can be exercising, going out, spending time with our friends and loved ones or doing something that makes us happy. One can't assume that they work every single minute of the day for the rest of their life. That's just not possible. It builds up massive amount of pressure, stress, unrealistically high expectations and even depression over time.


It turns into an endless cycle. You look at others and feel that you are not doing enough, you will start working more and your brain will get tired faster with time but you will still keep on trying to work more. However, your productivity level will actually decrease and you will end up feeling worse because you are not able to work like you expected to. And then again you look at others and the cycle continues.

Life doesn't have to be this way. Life isn't supposed to be this way. Life is supposed to filled with joy and love. So just take a moment and BREATH. Don't do anything for some time and just sit idle and breath. Because in this day to day chaos and over bearing schedules, we forget to focus on our breathing. Just sit down. No devices, no worries, no work and just breath. Stop thinking about what you are missing, stop criticizing yourself, stop comparing yourself with others for a few minute and just focus on your surroundings. See things that you never bothered to see before. Relax. Let your body heal. Let your mind heal. Let yourself heal from within.


When a person is injured and are bleeding, they treat the wound and bandage it. Until the wound is healed, one needs to take good care of it otherwise the wound might reopen and start bleeding again. Then why don't we give enough time to our minds and hearts to heal? You cannot be productive if you are not healthy, if you are not well from your mind, if you are not well physically, if you are not well emotionally or socially. We work best when we are at peace. Attain that peace. Try to maintain that peace. Because its really important for our sanity.


Lastly, I would like to say that focus on your mental health and self- healing because everyone is suffering from one thing or another. Everyone goes through their own problems and challenges. So its important to be peaceful from within as it will help you remain calm in difficult situations. Let your heart and mind breath. And see the magic begin.
